EXPRESSION OF A TERRITORY: NEW SUOLO 7 CABERNET FRANC WINE
Suolo 7 Cabernet Franc is the result of a new expression of the territory, a highly distinctive Duca di Salaparuta project originating both from the specific terroir where the vines are rooted and from a meticulous selection process conducted by agronomist in the field and by enologist Barbara Tamburini in the cellar.
The precise portions of vineyard chosen at the Duca di Salaparuta estate appear on the label and represent an extreme evolution of the concept of zonation. The new Suolo 7 Cabernet Franc wine takes life amidst the sunny countryside of the Suor Marchesa estate in Riesi (Sicily). Here the agronomist and the enologist chose the grapes from a small area of the vineyard with a southern exposure, a spot where the sun is hotter and so induces an earlier ripening of the grapes.
The particular composition of the soil (mostly calcareous but with a percentage of clay), the optimal sun exposure and medium altitude (ensuring a good temperature range) are the ideal ingredients for creating a sumptuously fragrant wine with a strong propensity for longevity.
Thanks to the hot Sicilian sun, Suolo Cabernet Franc is a dark ruby red wine with purple nuances; its aroma reveals fruity notes of blackberry, blueberry, raspberry jam, all which meld with hints of liquorice, sandalwood, vanilla and spices, thus offering the nose ever surprising sensations. The mouthfeel is rich, for a wine with a fine freshness and a great structure. So promptly upon the first sip, Suolo Cabernet Franc proves it is an elegant red that captures all the force of the land from which it is born.
